Board size is perfect for 8.5 x 11 sheets. It doesn't occupy a lot of space on the table. The sliding ruler can be locked and well aligned to the board, also held by mechanically synchronized strings at both ends with pulleys behind the melamine board.

I gave 5 Stars for many reasons;
The quality of the Martin Universal U-PEB2436 Deluxe Adjustable Parallel Edge Board is exceptional, after reviewing all of the other boards I selected this one and I am not disappointed.
The more significant reason for the 5 Stars is the Honesty of DEW Drafting Supplies management. DEW wasn't the first company chosen to order the board from, I was simply going down the list of companies that sold the board. Short story: when asking one of the other companies if they had it in stock no one did and it would take two weeks until I would receive the board. When I contacted DEW, Eddie told me they had board in stock and shipped the same day!! So, if you are looking to buy drafting supplies I highly recommend DEW Drafting Supplies, they will have it in stock and ship as promised. (Assuming it's not a special order)

It's solid and works well. It doesn't stand up as high as I would like. Only up to about 45 degrees. Each time I open it one of the wires on the back hangs up on part of the support. I don't understand why the big buttons on the parallel rule. It hardly adjusts, and then only in one direction. The lock is on the side. Would have preferred it the other way around. The one great flaw is the size: it is exactly 24 x 36. This makes it hard to tape down plans of that size. Should have been made 25 x 37.
