I have been having a hard time finding drawing leads. Had to use other brands, but you had the staedtler mars leads I am used to. Those other brand leads you can not judge hardness by their ratings.

Back when I used to draw on the board for a living, the company provided another brand of lead. I had always prefered Staedtler, but they didn't use that and I didn't want to buy my own. Now that I do my own drawing I have gone back to Staedtler and the lead is very consistently dark, with a good clean line.
