This item should be made from clear plastic. The dark grey makes it impossible to see the numbers. Also it has small traction bumps on one side to keep it from sliding. These bumps elevate the triangle off the paper so it is not possible to get a straight line.

Pros:
  • sink
  • door swings etc very useful
Cons:
  • red ink on gray hard to read
It is great to have a 1/2 scale again which is great for so many uses: designing kitchens, reviewing plans with clients etc. It is unfortunate that the red on gray makes using the scale cumbersome as the red is difficult to read on the gray color of the scale. Also, it would be better to have full inches along the 1/2 edge rather than sharing it in feet with the 1/4 scale coming in the opposite direction.

Very disappointed. The dark color makes it almost impossible to see the numbers and the hash lines. Total waste of money. Will use old cracked one from another manufacturer.

I am not in the habit of writing a bad review but I must make a comment about this product. The scale itself is grey so it makes it very difficult to read the numbers.......it is very thin and sits up on "bumps" so it is sometimes hard to draw a straight line.......not sure why they are even needed and also makes it very flimsy. I can see it bending if you don't store it completely flat. Definitely not worth the money. I've used kitchen scales for the past 40 years and never even imagined that this would be so thin as my other ones were always clear with larger numbers to mark the scale. Very disappointed.

Too dark. 1/2" scale printed in feet, not inches as I would prefer. Mine came with dimples pushed 1/2 way thru the back side (from manufacturing?), so it does not lay flat on paper... very disapointed.
