5-Drawer Steel Flat Files

By now, I would have thought that you have been notified that the Flast File arrived damaged. I sent Eddie Montfori the following email message. Thereafter, I received a call from Cindy Bohler from quality adjustment. I gather she received my message to Eddie. I will say that I was not very happy with the whole situation, beginning with my original July 7, 2024 order of the Flat File (10 weeks ago. I was annoyed that I had not been contacted to inform me that the color I had special ordered (and paid an extra $450.00) was no longer being produced. Eddie replied and mentioned that I can keep the File "as is" and SafeCo would send me $150, or they would replace it. Yet, I was delighted when Cindy Bohler called to inform me that SafeCo would be replacing the "cabinet only", considering that I had checked the drawers, which are in good condition. Later, Lisa Anderson sent me an email confirming that the cabinet replacement order had been entered, and was scheduled to be shipped out on September 25, 2024. THE FOLLOWING IS THE EMAIL TO Eddie Montfori: The flat file was delivered yesterday about 2:30 San Antonio time. Before it arrived, I read the sheet instructions: " How to Receive Your Shipment". There was only one guy mover who placed the large box on his "lift", and he brought it to the front of the house in front of my porch. Unfortunately, the two young guys who were to move it into the house could not be here when the file arrived. I opened the top of the box, and since I am 75 and can't move heavy things, I inspected what I could. The rest of the box looked ok to me. I could see through the drawers that the hardware for the drawers were in the box. Yet, when the two guys finally came to move the piece into the house, and finally took it out of the box, I noticed a dent along the back edge about 4". I figured I could live with this. However, when the file was put in its place, I inspected the drawers, and found that the top drawer would slightly get stuck on opening it. I noticed that the top of the drawer was touching the underside of the top of the file where the dent is located. Furthermore, the dent unglued some of the lip that covers the back side of the file.(see photo) I went back and checked the area on the box that matched the area of the dent, and there is an apparent imprint of the end of the arms of the lift. This dent from the lift most likely occurred when the mover brought the file to the front of the house, as he had to maneuver through a tight space over an uneven surface. I realize that by signing the receipt, I probably lost my claim. Yet, I wanted to let your company know, so that I could receive a response. I've studied the dent and will proceed to try to fix the dent the way dents on cars are fixed (I saw on YouTube). In the meantime, my anticipation to fill the drawers is delayed and my enthusiasm bummed out. I've been planning to buy a file like this one for quite a few years. Now, when I finally acquire one, I've encountered all kinds of problems, including my 6 week wait for the original order of the specialized color, which your company says it will no longer offer. I noticed that the cardboard used to pack the file was not as heavy-duty as other cardboards for packing these kinds of items. And when the truck arrived, I walked over to the truck and looked inside and saw the box next to other large boxes. I can see how boxes can bump into each other during transport. I understand the possible damages that can occur, especially for the long transport. I've attached photos of the box and the damage. So, be that as it may, I may just have to live with this mistake, unless you could offer some type of possible solution to satisfy the customer.

Every time I open a drawer, I again think how pleased I am with the Safco flat file cabinet that I purchased from DEW. (DEW's prices are the best!) The cabinet is perfect for storing all of those art supplies that won't stand on edge but also are too large to be fully supported on a typical shelving unit. (Plus, in the cabinet, things are no longer stacked in piles ten layers deep.) So easy to access my large sheets of watercolor paper, gesso'd but unstretched sheets of canvas, oversized stencils, weaving loom parts, drafting supplies, etc etc. Thanks, DEW!

I thought the price was too good to be true. The files were delivered quickly. They are very heavy but can easily be moved by removing the drawers. I can tell these files will last me for years. Thank you DEW!

Solid construction, easy assembly and I love that there were color options. The color was exactly what I expected. It is heavy which is great for use and durability, but you need to have some strong helpers to get it in place.

I look many places when I am going to purchase an item to be sure I am getting the best deal. This was the best I could find, along with great customer service and delivery notifications. I would certainly use them again! Carl

The flat files came quickly, were packed well, and are exactly as described. Pricing was better than anywhere else I checked for the exact same item. I could not be happier with DEW Drafting Supplies and would highly recommend them.

For years, I stumbled through with cast-offs, hand-me-down, or second rate files....I always said, "One day I'll invest in some proper, high-quality storage for my drawings and paintings" That day finally came. I only wish I hadn't waited.

It is just fine for the price point. Only issue I had was the screws for the handles are just about as short as they could possibly be so it was somewhat challenging to get them inserted. But overall nice cabinet
