2 Cheap replica of the original
Old Drafter on Oct 14th 2024

The original BerolRAPIDESIGN R-925 lettering aid was a high quality, 0.062" thick template made of transparent green hard plastic (like acrylic). Each lettering slot was beveled for inking pens.

Now an apparent victim of "shrinkflation", this same model number template (R-925) is a 0.030" thick, flimsy vinyl-like material with no bevel for inking pens. The description on the back of the package says "All cutouts are beveled and have allowance for pencil point." There is no bevel. The slots are - properly - about 0.030" wider than labeled to account for the width of the point of the pen or pencil. So, there's that.

A sticker has been placed over the original specification description on the back of the packaging. The sticker says 0.030 thick. But you can see under the sticker that the original spec said 0.060".

I'd gladly pay a little more for the original configuration. Manufacturers should just leave older drafting tools at their original quality levels and charge accordingly.

I wrote an email about this to the current manufacturer/owner of the Rapidesign brand - ChartPak - but received no response.

5 Lettering guide
Mago on Apr 8th 2018
I have owned one of these for many years but, lost it while on overseas assignment. I have a problem with my hand shaking and this helps me print legibly. I ordered two of these , because I did not want to be without one. I keep one in my safe to make sure I am not without one again. It is a fine product.

5 Letter Perfect

Purchased a small lettering guide as a back up for my existing guide which I have had for years but recently broke! Shipped quickly and was professionally packaged. Very happy with my purchase.
