Vinyl Drawing Board Cover - Cut Sheets

Very happy with my purchase from DEW. I was setting up my art space in my home so I can film some videos of me drawing and creating art. But my old Alvin drafting board that I removed the ruler from and use as an art board just looked terrible on camera. After many years of use for various crafting and drawing projects, it had Xacto blade cut marks in on the surface, as well as some small dings on it that made it a bit unpredictable to draw on. These wear and tear marks also made it look terrible when I was trying to film my videos. I was searching for a good solution and found it at Dew Drafting Supply. The Pacific Arc Vinyl drawing board cover is perfect. It is the perfect thickness and provides me with an excellent smooth surface to draw on. The blade marks and the dings in my board were not that bad nor deep, but the helpful instruction sheet that comes along with the vinyl cover says that if they are deeper you can use wood fill to patch them and then sand them down to have a smooth surface for the vinyl to cover. I do recommend that you follow the instructions and thoroughly clean the surface of your board first. I got the gray and white version which is reversible. I am using the gray for a nice neutral background to draw and film on. (I kind of wish they had a black and white option - but I suppose I can just use a large sheet of black paper or poster board on top of the nice smooth vinyl cover if I really want that look for videos in the future. The vinyl comes rolled but it flattened out completely and very quickly over the course of a day. It comes a bit larger so you can cut it down to the exact size of your board. A bit intimidating at first but I just placed my board on top of the vinyl and marked the edges with a thin acrylic marker. Cut it with a good blade and a long metal ruler as a straight edge and it was actually quite easy. It fits perfectly. Someone in the reviews here suggested to get the double stick tape to adhere it to the board along with my purchase and they were 100% correct. I suggest the same. The tape was a great addition at a great price and it is nice and thin and perfect to adhere the vinyl to your board. I wound up using the tape on the top and bottom edges so I can easily remove it if I decide I want to flip it and use the white side at some point. And I have lots of the tape left over to use if I decide to do that. I also tested removing the tape from a scrap piece of the vinyl and it came off pretty easily. So thrilled that I was able to revive my old drawing board for a very reasonable price. Buying a whole new drafting board could have cost me over $200 bucks which wasn't in my budget. Shipping took only about a week from order to receipt and it was packed well and arrived undamaged. Definitely recommend this product for any drawing surface that you want to revive - or even a new drawing table that you might want to protect. You can get custom sizes I believe as well. The mat was exactly like I wanted. I had not had a drafting board for 20 years. NO back in private practice I like to draw details and such. It works well. Good price compared to others too.

Bought this to complete a restoration of my Drafting/Drawing table my father built for me nearly 50 years.

I appreciate a co like DEW that can supply arch/eng.land arch supplies to those of us who still rely on drafting supplies . The ease of the website, expediting the delivery and quality of materials are the best around. the only thing that i cant seem to find is the quality of the older pickett circle templates. All the new ones out there are rough on the inner circumfrence of the template making for a less than clean inked line.

I laid it out on a flat surface for two weeks. Thought I had all the wrinkles out. So I went ahead and installed it next day. The wrinkles showed back up basically. this product is useless.
