What types of Seating Options do I have?

Drafting Chair

A chair designed specifically for users of drafting tables or other elevated surfaces above normal office-desk height. Drafting chairs are available in many different designs, colors, and variable height adjustments for normal drafting or tasks with raised work areas. Drafting chairs have seat backs, foot-support rings, and accessory arms are also available.

Drafting Stool

An elevated seating support for normal drafting. Usually not available with seat back support or arms. Stools normally do not have height-adjustment. Stools are an economic way to provide seating in drawing/drafting classrooms.

Leaning/Perching Stools

This new type of stool is not your typical chair! You lean into it for the perfect balance between sitting and standing. These leaning/perching stools help keep your spine in a neutral posture and your major muscles engaged for a more "active" workday.

Office Chair

A chair for standard desk heights. These chairs are also available in many designs and colors.

How do I choose what is right for me?

Step 1: Determine your work surface height

Before you choose any specific chair, it is important to know the height of your work surface. Standard drafting height is around 37"H while standard office height is around 30"H. Most drafting tables will adjust around these ranges so make sure your chair will go as high or as low as you need it to go to be comfortable for you.

Step 2: Choose your drafting chair features

Our Drafting and Office Chairs may include a number of ergonomic features. These features include but are not limited to:

  • Pneumatic Seat Height Adjustment
  • Height Adjustable Foot Rest
  • Seat Tilt Mechanism
  • Detachable and Optional Arm Rests
  • Adjustable Back Rest
  • Waterfall Seat Edge
  • Contoured Seat Cushion
